The Swamp Restaurant returned to Gainesville in a brand-new building that captures the charm and likeness of the original, historic landmark.
The Swamp Restaurant in Gainesville, a grill, bar, and event venue that served as a staple cultural landmark in the local community from its establishment in 1994 to its closure and demolition in the Summer of 2020 has reopened in a newly constructed building that fully captures the unique character, charm, and likeness of the original, historic building in which it was located for over twenty-five years.
The Swamp Restaurant, now located at 1026 SW Second Avenue in the Gainesville Innovation District, is less than two blocks from the University of Florida’s main entrance on Southwest 13th Street. Game day traditions, Greek social events, and a lazy afternoon lunch are back and better than ever.
