On Friday, Scorpio was awarded an Eagle Award for the recently completed Clay County Development Services Building. The award was accepted Friday evening during the Excellence in Construction Awards Gala held by ABC First Coast.
The 30,000-square-foot, two-story building was built next door to the current Clay County Administration Building with the intention of uniting the county’s community development departments under one roof to support the growing needs of its citizens. “This facility represents one of the County’s most important recent capital improvement projects and serves as a highly visible gateway for residents, developers, business leaders, and future investors entering Clay County,” said Craig Singleton, Capital Projects Manager for Clay County “The Economic Development Services Building was designed to create a modern, professional, and welcoming environment that reflects the County’s commitment to growth, economic development, and exceptional public service.”
The Development Services Building placed first in the General Contractor – Institutional- $10M to $25M category for the First Coast region. The Eagle Award for ABC Excellence in Construction is the highest, first-place honor in each category. Many factors are considered when selecting an Eagle Award winner, such as complexity, design appeal, unique challenges, timeline management, craftsmanship, innovation, safety performance, and cost efficiency.
Scorpio is proud of this recognition and grateful to Clay County, Walker Architects, and the entire team for helping us bring this exceptional building to life, for life.
