Enhancing educational and environmental impact statewide.

Scorpio is currently serving as the Construction Manager for a significant addition to the Florida Museum of Natural History at the University of Florida. The project will create a new home for the Museum’s Thompson Earth Systems Institute (TESI), a statewide outreach and education initiative. It will also house the NSF-funded iDigBio national digitization program and introduce a new public entrance to improve circulation and enhance the visitor experience for more than 200,000 annual guests.

The expanded facility will correct previous deficiencies while adding key features such as a 350-seat learning theater, flexible classrooms, conference and collaboration spaces, a maker lab, online learning studios, and an exhibit gallery. The project also targets Gold LEED or higher certification. Scorpio is working closely with UF and the design team to ensure the project meets its educational and environmental goals while enhancing the Museum’s statewide impact.
