Mirror Image Leadership Academy + Team Scorpio Summer 2022

For a second summer, Scorpio partnered with the local youth leadership development program, Mirror Image Leadership Academy, by sponsoring the program and hosting an inspiring group of rising 7th graders for an afternoon of experiences in our office and on an active job site.

The students arrived at the Scorpio Offices on a chartered bus with a team of exceptional leaders to participate in an educational session with President and CEO Domenic Scorpio. Domenic shared his personal story with the students and fielded thoughtful questions from the eager group. After lunch, the young men made good use of the myriad of games in the Scorpio Rec Room until it was time to get a briefing from Scorpio Senior Project Manager Nate Watson on the next phase of their visit, an active job site.

Nate gave an overview of the importance of safety and shared some information on the University of Florida New Student Health Care Center they were visiting. The students then grabbed their safety gear, a Scorpio hard hat and safety vest, and boarded the bus for campus.

Upon arrival, they were greeted by the entire Scorpio team managing the Student Health Care Center project and led on a complete tour of the three-story state-of-the-art facility under active construction.

“It is an honor to play a small role in the great work that the Mirror Image Leadership Academy is doing for our community,” said Domenic Scorpio. “The team behind the creation of this organization is remarkable. They have dedicated countless hours and their own resources to provide unique programming to some very deserving and motivated students. The Mirror Image Leadership Academy is doing remarkable things for our community, and we are humbled to be a part of their vision.”
