University of Florida Reitz Union Auditorium Renovation and Expansion

The UF Reitz Union Auditorium is an approximately 300-seat, multi-use facility used for presentation of films, lectures and events such as dance and theater performances, academic tech-live video, meetings, panel discussions, non-academic lectures and other typical college and community events.
The Auditorium is long and narrow with a 3 ft. tall stage and projection screen equipped with a surround sound system. Renovations will include: new raised flooring /stairs of slip resistant seamless epoxy, carpet tiles, Terrazzo, and sealed concrete; new walls and interior doors with specialized acoustical elements; sound lock doors and millwork; new ceilings in the auditorium, lobby and concessions, access stairs and vomitory, will be a range of acoustical tile and specialized materials determined by the Acoustical Engineers Siebein Associates. Upgrades to MEP, Fire Protections and HVAC systems will be incorporated as well.
A large branding package will be used in the entry and concession area designed to inspire and enhance the student experience. Including large format experiential graphics applied to glass storefront and walls along with backlit and lockable movie poster cases for “Now Showing”/“Coming Soon” displays. Hardware /Security Access Control will be integrated with the use of web-based security cameras, card readers and hardware selections for specific space characteristics. Upgrades will not only improve the visitor experience but bring the entire facility up to code with proper ADA accessibility.
