Alachua County Fire Station 40 is a 5,684 sf one-story new construction facility located in Waldo, Florida. The building features a two-bay Apparatus Area, seven dorm rooms, four full bathrooms, a full kitchen with commercial grade appliances, a living area, fitness and locker room, laundry and janitorial room, decontamination room, maintenance shop, storage rooms, and a covered outdoor patio.
This new building was designed as an energy efficient structure meeting current Alachua County green standards for structural as well as MEP, with zone driven HVAC supplying the heating and cooling throughout with state of the art low energy consumption units. Interior finishes include plaster, ceramic tiled bathrooms, acoustical ceilings, polished concrete floors, and solid wood doors. The station’s exterior is protected by an asphalt shingled roof, cement plaster finish on walls with an accent band and color scheme that blends nicely into the rural area.
