Today marks the 33rd annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day. As a community centered organization, Scorpio fully supports and promotes the achievements and recognition of female leaders in the community, on and off the field. This national observance celebrates the extraordinary achievements of females in sports. Scorpio actively participates and sponsors events such as the annual Fierce Awards which honors inspirational female entrepreneurs, volunteers, and executives. However, it is our professional partnerships with women-led and women-centered organizations that underscores our everyday commitment.
Over the past three years, Scorpio has been entrusted to build four new homes for PanHellenic women at the University of Florida. Each one is a unique and dynamic facility that represents the strong character and inspiring leadership of its respective chapter. Now we are incredibly honored to expand this portfolio of facilities dedicated to women and announce the completion of the renovation and expansion of Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium at the University of Florida.
It seems only fitting that on National Girls & Women in Sports Day we recognize those who are committed to providing access to sports for all girls and women. We believe the Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium project is a shining example of the University of Florida’s commitment to women and women’s athletics. This commitment recognizes and celebrates the incredible talent, hard work, and dedication of the female athletes and coaches that will practice and play in this state-of-the-art facility while inspiring the next generation. Scorpio is exceptionally proud to have partnered with the university and the athletic association on this exciting project, bringing this stadium to life.
This year’s core message of National Girls & Women in Sports Day is Lead Her Forward. We hope you will unite with us and countless others in spreading the message that a girl’s involvement in sports helps to build courage, strength, and character. Together, those traits will build our confident leaders of tomorrow.
Please join us today in the celebration of women in sports and the empowerment of girls and then again on February 12th join the entire Gator Nation as the University Athletic Association celebrates the official ribbon cutting for Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. Go Lady Gators!
